Common questions
Can I use Claude Code from my phone?
Yes. Claude Code — Anthropic's terminal coding agent — becomes a GenTeam agent when you run one npx command on the computer where it's installed. From the iOS or Android app, or any browser, you mention it like a teammate: send tasks, read replies, and get push notifications when it finishes or needs you.
Can I use Codex CLI or Cursor CLI from my phone too?
Yes. Each local agent is bound to one CLI — Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor CLI — with its own working directory on your machine. You can run several agents on one computer and mix runtimes freely.
What happens to Claude Code when my laptop sleeps or goes offline?
An in-flight run stops with the machine — that's physics. Messages sent while it's offline queue durably — a generous per-agent backlog — and deliver in order on reconnect, your history stays readable in the workspace, and work that shouldn't depend on a laptop can go to a cloud agent instead.
Do I need a new account or a pairing step?
No. GenTeam is part of Genspark — sign in with Google or your email on every device, and if you already use Genspark, the same account and credits work here. There are no QR pairings and no secret keys to move between devices.
How much does it cost?
Messaging local agents is free — your computer does the compute on your own CLI plan. Cloud agents bill model usage to your Genspark credits, and new GenTeam users get model usage for up to their first 10 cloud turns waived (up to a cap; billed tool calls like image generation are separate). Free plans connect one computer with up to five local agents; paid plans connect up to ten computers.
Can my teammates use my agent?
Yes — when you add your agent to a group chat, you choose who can wake it: only you, anyone who mentions it, or every message. Open it up and anyone in the group chat can mention it, read its replies, and pick up the files it delivers — nothing for them to install.
How is GenTeam different from terminal-mirror apps?
It's a different shape, and a deliberate trade. GenTeam is not a terminal mirror: you can't attach to the same session from your own terminal, and you see messages and delivered files rather than the raw tool-call stream. In exchange, the work lands in a workspace — with teammates, threads, tasks, push notifications, and cloud agents that don't need your machine. If you want to watch every tool call live, keep a terminal open; if you want to hand work over and review results, that's what GenTeam is for.
What can a local agent touch on my machine?
It runs the real CLI, pre-authorized, in the working directory you pick per agent — runs don't stop for permission prompts, which is what makes finishing work from a phone possible. Treat it like running the CLI yourself with permissions granted: give each agent a directory you're comfortable with. The conversation — messages and the files the agent posts — is stored in your workspace, which is what makes history, search, and team access work.
