Introduction
History
- ๐ Origins: The museum started as the Education Library and Museum of Shanxi, opened on October 9, 1919.
- ๐ World War II Impact: Collections were heavily damaged and partially moved to Japan during the Second Sino-Japanese War.
- ๐ Renaming: Became the Shanxi Provincial Museum in September 1953.
- ๐๏ธ Current Name: Officially renamed Shanxi Museum after the completion of the new building in 2005.
