AI Drive
AI Drive
What Is AI Drive?
AI Drive is Genspark's built-in cloud drive — a single place to store, organize, and share every file you produce and use across Genspark. The biggest difference from an ordinary cloud drive: all of Genspark's AI products are wired into your drive, so files don't have to be exported and re-imported between products.
-
All your Genspark files in one place — decks built in Slides, documents written in Docs, material downloaded by the AI, and files produced by AI coding all land in the drive automatically, ready to find again anytime.
-
Files wired directly into the AI — hover any file and click Super Agent to hand it to the AI. Ask it to research the document, turn it into a deck, or generate a video. The output goes right back into AI Drive.
-
Easy to organize — folders, move, rename, search, and list/grid views are all there; images, PDFs, PPTX, video, and zip archives can be browsed inside without extracting, all without downloading.
-
Built for sharing and collaboration — share any file or folder by link or email invite, with control over who can view and edit.
-
Recover deleted files — deleting moves to trash first, where files can be restored within 30 days.
How it differs from other Genspark products: AI Chat, Super Agent, and AI Slides do work — they produce results. AI Drive is where you keep things. It's the unified file hub where each product's output can live, and from which you can hand files back to the AI to process further. Unlike external cloud drives like Google Drive or OneDrive, AI Drive is built into Genspark — your files and the AI tools share the same space.
Quick Start
-
Go to AI Drive — open Drive from the left sidebar (/aidrive/files). The first time you open AI Drive, a legal disclaimer appears — check "I have read and agree" and click I AGREE before uploading or downloading. Once you have files, a Recent Files section appears at the top of the root.
-
Put files in — click "+ New" at the top right and choose Upload (files) or Upload Folder, or drag files onto the page. Or use Download For Me to pull material straight into the drive from a URL or a one-line description. Output from Genspark products lands automatically.
-
Organize, preview, and use — organize with folders, move, and rename; double-click a file to preview it online; select a file and use the top action bar to share, download, or hand it to the AI.
Tip — File-management actions (upload, download, organize, compress, share, delete, and restore) don't consume credits. You're only billed by an AI product's own rules when you hand a file to that AI to process.
Upload and Organize Files
Upload files
Click "+ New" at the top right and pick from the dropdown:
-
Upload — upload one or more files
-
Upload Folder — upload a whole folder (keeps the directory structure)
-
New Folder — create an empty folder You can also drag files onto the page. Progress and per-item results appear in the Status / Operations panel at the bottom right (e.g. "Successful" or "Moved 1/1 Completed").
Tip — Output from Genspark products is saved automatically — if you can't find a generated file, check /aidrive/files first.
Move, rename, organize
Select a file or folder and a row of actions appears at the top: Share / Rename / Download / Move / Delete.
Views, sorting, and Recent Files
The file area switches between list and grid views, and sorts by Name / Size / Modified. Recent Files at the top of the root shows recently accessed files in a horizontal row — click one to open it quickly.
Search
Use the search box at the top ("Search files and folders") to find files; results return as you type, each labeled with where the file lives.
Online preview
Double-click a file to open a full-screen preview. Common types that preview online: images, PDFs, PPTX, and video. Zip archives can be browsed inside without extracting. Image previews can be cropped/rotated and saved back to Drive. Types that can't preview online prompt you to download.
Download Into the Drive
No need to download to your computer and re-upload — paste a link or describe what you want, and the AI downloads it straight into the drive.
Download For Me
Click "Download For Me" in the drive to open the downloader:
-
Tell it what to download — paste an HTTP/HTTPS link or describe what you want in natural language → click Confirm.
-
Pick files and save — in "Select Files to Download," check the files to keep, choose a destination, and click "Save to AI Drive".
Tip — Common web resources — video, audio, images, documents — can all be downloaded. Downloading a direct link doesn't consume credits; any exceptions follow what the UI shows.
Compress and decompress
Select files or folders → Compress (creates a .zip) or Decompress (extracts a .zip into a folder). Runs as a background task with progress shown.
Download to your computer
Select a file → click "Download". For multiple files, confirm "Compress and Download" to bundle them into a single archive.
Delete and Trash
Deleting isn't gone-forever — files go to trash first, giving you a chance to change your mind.
Delete to trash
Select a file → click "Delete" → confirm "Move to trash." Files move to trash rather than being permanently deleted. Auto-cleared after 30 days. Deleting a folder removes every file inside.
Restore or empty the trash
Open trash at /aidrive/trash. Select items to Restore or Delete just those. With nothing selected, the buttons become Restore All and Delete All for the whole trash. If a file's original folder is gone, those items are listed by name with a count of how many need a new location chosen. If some items fail to restore for another reason, you'll see "Restored X of Y items (N failed)."
Share Files and Folders
Share any file or folder and control exactly who can open it and what they can do. Sharing works two ways you combine: invite specific people (by email, with a role) and set a general-access level (how broadly a link works). Start by selecting a file or folder and clicking Share. Drive has two main tabs:
-
My Drive — all the files and folders you own
-
Shared with me — files and folders others have shared with you. The file stays in the owner's storage (doesn't use your space). If you have edit access and delete something from a shared folder, it goes to the owner's Trash — the owner can restore it.
Inviting people
In the Share panel, use the "Add by email" field to add people, then choose their role (default: Can edit):
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Can view | Open and read (and download, when allowed) |
| Can edit | Everything a viewer can do, plus make changes |
Click Share to send the invite. Invited people access the file via their Genspark account — the invite is tied to their account, so they'll sign in the first time they open it. Manager is a separate governance role for managed or team folders — not something you assign from this panel. It controls the access list, settings, and trash for the folder. Note on org drives — Administrators of an organization are implicit Managers of that organization's own drive — admin edit and read access even without appearing in a file's share list. Resolved live, never stored. Does not extend to members' personal drives.
General access: how broadly the link works
-
Restricted — only explicitly invited people can open it. This is the default.
-
Anyone in your organization (or "Anyone in [org name]") — anyone in your Genspark org can open it.
-
Anyone with the link — anyone who has the link can open it, without signing in. A signed-out visitor gets a read-only view. This access level is view-only — the role is locked to view; only Restricted and Organization access can be Editor.
Tip — Allow downloads: the "Let viewers download the file" (or "Let viewers download files in this folder") toggle is in the Share panel and controls whether the people you've shared with can download — or only view. It applies to all share recipients, including email invitees.
Note on org policy — Your org's policy controls whether public sharing is allowed. If "Anyone with the link" isn't offered, an org policy is blocking it. If an org tightens its policy later, links already shared publicly stop working retroactively. When org policy blocks all public sharing, you'll see "Your organization policy restricts public AI Drive sharing" and only email invites work.
Changing or revoking access
Open the Share panel on a shared item:
- To remove a person's access: click Remove on their row
- To stop link sharing: set General access back to Restricted
Let the AI Work on Your Drive Files
Files in the drive aren't just sitting there — hand one to the AI to keep working on with one click, and the output goes back into the drive.
Start from a file with Super Agent
Hover over any file row → click "Super Agent" → Super Agent opens in a new tab carrying that file. Type your request — research, organizing, turning it into a deck, generating a video — and the output is saved back to Drive. Folders and 0-byte empty files have the Super Agent button grayed out. To use a specific product directly (Slides, Docs, etc.), go into that product and pick a file there.
Agents read and write your drive directly
Genspark's agents (Super Agent, AI coding, etc.) can read and write your drive directly while running a task — files produced by AI coding, downloaded material, and generated reports all land in Drive and can be reused across tasks. About cost: keeping files in Drive is free. The moment you hand a file to an AI like Super Agent, Slides, or Deep Research to process, it's billed by that product's rules — not by Drive. The drive's core file management stays free.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Is AI Drive the same as Google Drive or OneDrive?
No. AI Drive is Genspark's own cloud drive, deeply wired into Genspark's AI products. You can import files from Google Drive / OneDrive to use in Genspark, but those are separate external cloud drives.
Can free users use it?
Yes. Drive is open to all users. File-management actions are free; storage space varies by plan (see the usage bar at the top).
How big is the drive? Does it cost money?
File management itself is free — upload, download, organize, compress, share, delete, and restore don't consume credits. Storage space is a membership benefit; higher plans get more, and the exact capacity is shown in the usage bar at the top. When space is full, uploads are blocked with a prompt to upgrade.
Do files generated by Slides / Docs save automatically?
Yes. Output from Genspark products lands in your drive automatically at /aidrive/files. If you can't find a generated file, check here first.
Can I recover something I deleted by mistake?
Yes. Go to /aidrive/trash — select individual items and click Restore, or click Restore All with nothing selected to restore everything. If a file's original folder no longer exists, those items are listed by name so you can choose a new location. If some items fail for another reason, you'll see "Restored X of Y items (N failed)." After emptying the trash ("Delete All") or after 30-day auto-clear, recovery isn't possible.
How do I control who can see or change a shared file?
Use the Share panel: add people by email (Can view or Can edit), and set the general-access level (Restricted / Anyone in your org / Anyone with the link). "Anyone with the link" is always view-only — only email-invited people can be given edit access.
Can I stop sharing after I've sent a link out?
Yes. Open the Share panel: click Remove on a person's row to remove their access, or set General access back to Restricted to stop link sharing. After you set it back to Restricted, the link stops working immediately.
Why can't I choose "anyone with the link"?
Your org's policy may block public sharing. You'll see "Your organization policy restricts public AI Drive sharing" — only email invites work in that case. Contact your org administrator.
Does "anyone with the link" require a Genspark account?
No — a signed-out visitor gets a read-only view without signing in. Invite-by-email access does require an account.
Can an administrator see my org's drive files?
Admins are implicit Managers of the organization's own drive — edit and read access even without appearing in a file's share list. Does not extend to members' personal drives.
Where do files people share with me appear?
In the Shared with me tab. They stay in the owner's storage (don't count against your space). If you have edit access and delete something, it goes to the owner's Trash — the owner can restore it.
Which files can use the Super Agent button?
All non-folder files can (hover a file row and the Super Agent button appears). Folders and 0-byte empty files show the button grayed out.
Does letting the AI work on drive files cost money?
Keeping files in Drive is free. Processing a file with an AI (Super Agent, Slides, etc.) is billed by that product's rules.
What can Download For Me download?
Common web resources — video, audio, images, documents — by pasting a link or describing in natural language. Downloading a direct link into the drive doesn't consume credits.
