Gen-1 Slides
Gen-1
What is Gen-1?
Gen-1 turns a single request into a boardroom ready presentation and is Genspark's first in-house model trained to frontier quality as a new model for AI Slides standard mode. Gen-1 is built from MiniMax M3, an open-weight model, and was post-trained with reinforcement learning inside the same production system that runs AI Slides. Gen-1 ranks first in 8 of 9 internal and public benchmark comparisons, putting it in the same tier as Claude Opus 5.
Where you'll find Gen-1
Gen-1 is the standard model inside AI Slides to build your deck. No setup or selection needed. Standard and Ultra are chosen at the bottom of the AI Slides chat section.
- Standard mode — runs Gen-1 by default (included in every plan)
- Ultra mode — keeps offering frontier models (top-tier models from other labs) such as Claude Opus 5 Gen-1 is additive: it joins the models Genspark already orchestrates. Standard mode leads with Gen-1, and Ultra mode keeps the frontier models available whenever you want them.
What you get with Gen-1
Gen-1 specializes in turning a request into a deck you can use as-is. Giving you the output quality of ‘Ultra’ in our ‘Standard’ mode.
- Polished visual design — trained to match the quality of frontier-tier decks
- Clean, reliable layouts — structured slides built end to end, ready for your audience
- End-to-end slide building — planning, design, and iteration handled from a single prompt
Privacy & your data
Running on USA infrastructure, your data never leaves your environment and is never shared with the base model’s developer. MiniMax is not a subprocessor and has no access to your data. This is the same boundary applied to every model used.
Cost
- Gen-1 is now the model used for Standard mode in AI Slides, is included in every plan at no change in price but with better results.
- For teams wanting API access to this model please reach out to [email protected]. For existing enterprise customers who have workspace model restrictions, this remains unchanged. Standard mode continues to use approved models as before, workspaces can enable or disable Gen-1 slides on request.
FAQ
Is Gen-1 open-weight?
No. It's built on the open-weight model MiniMax M3, but the post-trained Gen-1 model itself is not open-weight.
Does this mean Genspark is done orchestrating other models?
No. Genspark continues to orchestrate the best models for every task, frontier and open alike. Gen-1 is the first model trained where our scale and product experience give us an advantage — slides lead the way.
Was Gen-1 trained on my decks?
No. User content was not used as training data; only internally constructed tasks were. Aggregated, de-identified feedback is used to calibrate the grader, not to train the model.
Does Gen-1 cost extra?
No — it's the default in Standard mode of AI Slides, which is included in every plan at no change in cost.
Can I use other models for slides?
Yes. Ultra mode in AI Slides continues to offer frontier models like Claude Opus 5.
What if my deck doesn't look right?
Just describe the change and it's regenerated, or adjust any slide directly — decks are fully editable. If you'd rather start from a different model, you can switch to Ultra mode at any time.
