What is GenClipboard?

GenClipboard is Genspark's free native clipboard manager for Mac, Windows, and Linux. It remembers everything you copy and gives you a searchable local history — all keyboard-first, so you never lose a snippet or reach for the mouse.

Quick Start

1. Download and install GenClipboard. Download from genclipboard.ai — choose Mac, Windows, or Linux. On Mac, drag GenClipboard to your Applications folder; on Windows, run the installer.
2. Grant permissions (Mac only). Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and enable GenClipboard. The first time you take a screenshot or recording, macOS also asks for Screen Recording permission. Windows and Linux need no extra permission.
3. Open the panel. Press ⇧⌘V (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+V (Windows / Linux). The panel appears at the bottom of your screen with everything you've copied.
4. Find and paste. Type to search, use the arrow keys to navigate, press 1–9 or Enter to paste a clip, and Esc to dismiss.

Every hotkey above is configurable in Settings. The translation hotkeys ship unassigned — set them up in Settings → Translation (see the FAQ below).

Privacy

Your clipboard stays yours.

• Local-first — your clip history is stored locally in a database on your own device
• Encrypted sync — sync is opt-in and end-to-end encrypted. Your encryption password never leaves your device, so the cloud can never read your clip content
• Password managers are ignored — copies from 1Password, Bitwarden, KeePassXC, and other password managers are never recorded by default
• No content telemetry — usage analytics track app events only and are designed to never include the content of what you copy

FAQ

Q: What does GenClipboard cost? It's free — no subscription, no credits. Translation is also free and only requires signing in with your Genspark account.

Q: Does it sync between devices? Yes, optionally. Sync is end-to-end encrypted and merge-aware. Text and rich-text clips sync across your devices; images and files always stay local. Set it up in Settings: sign in with your Genspark account, then create a sync encryption password, it stays on your devices and is never sent to the server.

Q: How many clips does it keep? By default GenClipboard keeps your 500 most recent clips locally, deleting the oldest unpinned ones first, pinned clips are never removed. You can change the limit in Settings → Max Clipboard History.

Q: Is my clipboard data private? Yes. GenClipboard is local-first, sync is end-to-end encrypted, and there's no telemetry on your clipboard content.

Q: How do I use translation? Open Settings → Translation, sign in with your Genspark account, and assign a hotkey to one or both modes: Selection Translate (a popup appears next to your highlighted text, with Replace and Copy buttons) and Silent Translate (the translation replaces your highlighted text in place, no popup). Set your First and Second Languages there too, GenClipboard translates into your First Language, or into your Second Language when the source is already in your First.

Q: Can I change the hotkey? Yes — set your own panel hotkey in Settings → Toggle Hotkey. The screenshot, scrolling-capture, recording, and translation hotkeys are configurable in Settings as well.

Q: How does GenClipboard fit with GenTerminal? Both are part of Genspark's native desktop tools — GenClipboard manages your clipboard, GenTerminal is your SSH terminal. They're independent apps that share your Genspark account.

Q: How do I send diagnostic information when I report a problem? If you hit an issue and our support team asks for logs, open Settings and click Send diagnostics. This uploads recent app logs so we can investigate — your clipboard content is not included. Mention the approximate time the problem happened when you contact support.
