What is AI Chat?
AI Chat is Genspark's conversational agent. It answers questions, can search the web, reads uploaded documents, and writes or edits text. It produces text only.
Use AI Chat to shape and refine what you want: talk an idea through, tighten the ask, get the thinking done, then hand the finished prompt to an agent to execute. Nail the prompt in AI Chat first, then let Super Agent run with it.
Quick Start
- Open AI Chat — from the Genspark homepage, or go straight to the AI Chat agent. It's also available in mobile browsers and the mobile apps.
- Type your question.
- Pick a model — or use Mixture-of-Agents (below).
- Follow up — keep chatting in the same conversation, and switch models mid-conversation whenever you like.

Model picker
The model picker is a single control — there are no Standard or Ultra tiers in AI Chat. It lists 40+ models plus a Mixture-of-Agents option.
Mixture-of-Agents
Auto-mixes best AI models for your task. An ensemble of models whose outputs are synthesized into a single response.
Web search with sources
Toggle Search Web and AI Chat searches the web in real time. Results include links to the sources so you can verify what it says. Search is disabled on a few specific models (see the list in AI Chat for the most up to date models).
Files
Upload PDF, Word, Excel, and image files and AI Chat reads them. Some models also accept image input directly.
Personalization
Personalization is on by default, and you can turn it off from the app.
Product documentation
Genspark's product documentation is always attached, so AI Chat can answer questions about Genspark products.
Plans & credits
- Free — a daily credit grant (100 credits a day up until your lifetime free credit allowance is used up). Chat is limited by your credit balance, not by which model you pick. Claude Haiku 4.5 is the default model.
- Plus and Pro — Core models are included at no credit cost within the fair use limit before consuming your monthly credits. When you reach the fair use limit, you continue to use your monthly credit balance.
- Plus and Pro, subscribed before September 18, 2026 — Your current unlimited zero credit benefits continue unchanged through December 31, 2026 (continuously active subscription required): every model included at no credit cost.
- Team — Team seats are included in this benefit set; seats active before September 18, 2026 and kept continuously active retain the unlimited chat and image benefit through December 31, 2026.
Fair-use cap
To keep Genspark fast, fair, and reliable, paid plans have a fair-use cap on AI Chat, separate from your credit balance: a session limit over a fixed 5-hour window. It's per-user and anchored to your first message — new chats don't reset it, and buying credits doesn't lift it.
When the cap is reached, AI Chat shows you exactly when it will be available again — "AI Chat [5-hour limit] reached. Resets {time}" while all other agents keep working as usual.
If you subscribed before September 18, 2026 and keep your subscription continuously active, your current benefits continue unchanged through December 31, 2026.

What is Mixture-of-Agents?
It auto-mixes best AI models for your task, synthesizing their outputs into one response.
Can AI Chat generate images?
No — AI Chat produces text only. For images, use the AI Image Agent.
Can I use voice input in AI Chat?
No — voice input isn't part of AI Chat. Dictation is a separate product.
Can AI Chat read my files?
Yes — upload PDF, Word, Excel, or image files and it reads them. Some models also accept image input directly.
Does AI Chat remember my past conversations?
No — AI Chat doesn't remember you across conversations. It has no memory system and doesn't read your Hub files. Your chats are saved as projects, so ending a conversation doesn't delete it.
Why did I hit a limit even though I have credits?
That's the fair-use cap — a token-spend limit over a fixed 5-hour window, separate from your credit balance. It resets when the window ends; buying credits doesn't lift it. See Membership Plans for details.
How much does AI Chat cost?
On the free plan, chat is limited by your daily credit allowance. On Plus or Pro plans, core models are included at no credit cost within the fair use limit before consuming credits and flagship models use credits. When you reach the limit you continue with credits purchased rather than waiting.
How do I turn off personalization?
Personalization is on by default; you can turn it off from the app.
