Credit Basics

What are Credits

Credits represent the computational resources Genspark uses to generate content like text, images, and videos. They measure the processing power, memory, and server time needed for your creations.

Key principle: More complex tasks (longer context, higher resolution images, longer videos, etc.) require more credits than simpler ones.

Checking Credit Balance

To view your current credit balance, simply click on Settings button in the bottom left corner. You'll see your credit balance displayed prominently.

Replenishing Credits

Choose one of these options depending on your subscription type:

If you're on the Free plan:

  • Wait for your daily refresh — Your free credits will automatically replenish each day
  • Upgrade to Plus or Pro — Get a much higher monthly credit allocation and access to premium features

If you're already a Plus or Pro subscriber:

  • Wait for your monthly refresh — Your credits will automatically reset at the start of your next billing cycle
  • Upgrade to a higher plan — Move to a higher subscription tier to receive a larger monthly credit allocation

Credit Expiration Policy

Monthly subscription credits: Credits from your monthly subscription do NOT carry over to the next billing period. Your credit balance resets at the start of each billing cycle, automatically refreshing to your plan's standard allocation regardless of unused credits from the previous month.

Credit Calculation Factors

Your credit usage varies based on several factors:

  • Input content — Text length and any files you attach to conversations
  • Conversation depth — More messages and longer exchanges consume more credits
  • Generated media — Image resolution and video duration
  • Model selection — Advanced models consume more credits per use

Examples of credit consumption:

  • Simple text queries use fewer credits
  • Generating high-resolution images uses more credits
  • Creating longer videos uses significantly more credits
  • Using advanced AI models (like Pro-level models) uses more credits

FAQ

Q: Do I lose credits when generation fails?

No! Failed generations don't deduct any credits from your account. This includes:

  • Image generation marked as "failure"
  • Video generation that didn't complete
  • Any output blocked by content filters

Why failures happen:

  • Temporary network instability
  • API issues
  • Content policy violations

Good news: The system automatically ensures no credits are consumed when generation fails.
